Electrostatic paint is a special type of coating that utilizes the principle of electrostatic attraction to evenly deposit paint particles onto the surface of an object, resulting in a uniform coating. Electrostatic painting is widely used and offers several advantages:

1.Anti-static properties: After application, electrostatic paint can prevent the generation of static electricity, which is particularly important in flammable and explosive environments to avoid hazards caused by static sparks.
2.Chemical resistance: It provides excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, abrasion, dust, and mildew, suitable for various environments.
3.Ease of application: Electrostatic painting can be applied through spraying or brushing, making it simple and suitable for large-scale applications.
4.Color variety: Available in a range of colors including gray, blue, green, red, yellow, black, silver, etc., to meet decorative requirements for different settings.
5.Shielding effect: Some electrostatic paints also offer electromagnetic shielding properties, attenuating electromagnetic waves within specific frequency ranges and reducing electromagnetic radiation.

The general steps for applying electrostatic paint are as follows:

  • Surface preparation: Ensure the ambient temperature is above 5°C and the relative humidity is below 75%. New concrete floors should be dried for 28 days before application. Remove any contaminants, grind and polish the base surface, clean and vacuum to ensure it is dust-free, dry, and oil-free.

  • Applying the primer: Mix the primer and let it sit to mature. Apply it with a roller, allow it to dry for 12 hours, and then proceed to the next coat.

  • Laying conductive copper foil: Before applying the middle coat, lay down conductive copper foil and connect it to the grounding terminal.

  • Applying the conductive middle coat: Mix the middle coat thoroughly and trowel it on with a specialized trowel. Allow it to dry for 24 hours, then grind and clean before proceeding to the next step.

  • Applying the anti-static topcoat: Mix the topcoat and let it sit. Apply it with a special roller over the middle coat, wait 24 hours, and then apply a second coat. After 48 hours, personnel can enter the area, and the paint should be left to cure for 7 days before use.

Electrostatic paint is widely used in industrial and commercial sectors, such as electronics, electrical appliances, hardware, plastics, bakelite boards, anti-static floor paints, surface anti-static treatment for testing panels, and various mechanical products' surface anti-static coating, etc.

When selecting electrostatic paint, factors such as the efficiency of electrostatic spraying, the quality of the nozzles and electrodes, the control system, and the size and shape of the workpiece should be considered to ensure coating quality and effect.
